Our Client, AKS Painting & Decorating Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Painting Trade Worker to join their team in Wollert to work all over Victoria. Responsibilities
  • Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, and applying appropriate primers and sealants.
  • Smoothing surfaces using steel wool, sandpaper, brushes, and mechanical equipment to ensure an even paint application.
  • Removing old paint and coatings through the use of wire brushes, scrapers, chemical paint removers, or blowtorches.
  • Repairing surface imperfections by filling joints, holes, and cracks with putty, fillers, and sealants, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Applying protective and decorative finishes such as paint, varnish, stains, enamels, and lacquers to interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Cutting in and applying coatings with precision to achieve clean lines and an aesthetically pleasing finish on structures and fittings.
  • Mixing paints, pigments, oils, and thinners to obtain desired colours and consistencies, or selecting pre-mixed paint products as required.
  • Removing fixtures such as switch covers, picture hooks, and fittings prior to painting using appropriate tools (e.g., screwdrivers).
  • Setting up ladders, scaffolding, and protective coverings (drop cloths) to safeguard flooring, furniture, and adjacent surfaces during painting projects; masking baseboards, frames, and windows to ensure clean application edges.
Qualifications

Cert III in Painting required from Australia
Minimum two years of work experience
