Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and cook menu items in accordance with restaurant standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop menus and specials, considering seasonal availability, customer preferences, and food cost control.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation activities to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation before service.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety regulations.
  • Order, receive, and manage stock of ingredients and kitchen supplies, maintaining cost-effectiveness and minimal wastage.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee cooks and kitchen hands.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Liaise with management regarding menu planning, pricing, and special events.
  • Adapt recipes and techniques to accommodate dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free)
Qualifications

Cert IV or Diploma in the relevant field
At least 1-2 years of experience
