Paul Preusker Racing is currently seeking 2 skilled Horse Trainers to join our team in McKenzie Creek, VIC-3401. These positions involve managing daily horse care, implementing tailored exercise and training programs, preparing horses for racing, and working closely with the head trainer and stable staff to maintain the highest standards of welfare and performance.

Responsibilities
  • To keep an eye on and preserve the health, fitness, and general wellbeing of horses, collaborate closely with vets.
  • To enhance a horse's manners and performance when burdened, perform groundwork training.
  • To make individualized exercise plans and training regimens to meet the demands of each horse.
  • To prepare horses physically and mentally for competition, employment, or leisure activities by training and guiding them.
  • To Make individualized exercise plans and training schedules to meet the demands of each horse.
  • To train and educate riders and trainees in proper horse care and training methods.
  • To maintain detailed records of your training, food, and veterinary care.
  • To determine and resolve behavioural problems with efficient and compassionate training techniques.
  • To make sure that workplace safety procedures and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements are strictly adhered to.
  • To work together to oversee daily feeding, cleaning, and care schedules with steady employees.
Qualifications
  • Education: Relevant studies in equine management, horse training, or related fields will be highly regarded.
  • Skills: Thorough knowledge of horse-related behaviour, advanced training methods, and thorough standards for horse care.
  • Safety Compliance: A commitment to following OHS and workplace safety protocols.
  • Qualities: Excellent communication skills, patience, physical fitness, and versatility.
