Read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and engineering specifications.
Measure, mark out, and set levels for wall frames, floors, and roof structures.
Construct and install timber wall frames, floor systems, roof trusses, joists, and load-bearing components.
Ensure all framing is plumb, square, aligned, and compliant with building codes.
Install temporary bracing and supports to maintain structural stability during construction.
Operate power tools and hand tools safely, including nail guns, saws, drills, and levels.
Install external doors, windows, door frames, and cavity sliders during the lock-up stage.
Fit cladding, fascia, eaves, and weatherproofing membranes or flashings.
Ensure all openings, seals, and penetrations are weather-tight and compliant.
Install internal frames, partitions, subfloors, and structural fixings.
Fit hardware such as hinges, locksets, handles, and door furniture.
Inspect and adjust framing or lock-up components to ensure proper fit and finish.
Coordinate with other trades (electricians, plumbers, bricklayers, etc.) to ensure correct placement of services.
Maintain site safety, follow OHS requirements, and participate in toolbox meetings.
Manage materials, check deliveries, and keep work areas clean and organised.
Report issues, variations, or structural concerns to supervisors or builders.
